Our research group is interested in understanding how chondrocyte-extracellular matrix interactions regulate homeostasis in the cartilage of the temporomandibular joint. We are particularly interested in understanding the interaction of tissue mechanics and cell-matrix derived signaling. The lab has multiple ongoing projects focused on how injuy and disruptions in mechanical homeostasis:  1) disrupt   the balance between cell death and survival , 2) promote fibrogenic remodeling of the extracellular matrix, and 3) impact progenitor cell migration .
